Our Owner and Therapist

MEET DANIELLE PRESTER, LMHC

From a very young age, I knew I wanted a career in the helping professions. I decided to pursue mental health counseling after personally experiencing how impactful therapy was in helping myself and my loved ones. I have worked as a therapist, clinical supervisor and program director in various clinical settings. One thing that remained consistent throughout my work experiences is the need for culturally informed counseling practices. I founded Prester Mental Health Counseling PLLC to provide affirming and inclusive therapy to the WNY community and beyond.

Supporting the community is a foundational value for myself and the business. I volunteer with the UB Human Rights Initiatives performing psychological evaluations for individuals seeking asylum. I maintain a presence in a community nonprofit clinic to reach those who cannot access private therapy. I also volunteer with the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Allegheny College and a Master of Arts in Counseling from PennWest University of Pennsylvania (2008). I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York since 2018 (License #009013). I am a former Licensed Professional Counselor (Pennsylvania, 2012-2019).
